Service Description

Pressure Canning Workshop: June 21st 10am - 12pm Learn how to safely and effectively Pressure Can Workshop. Angie will take away your fear of using a pressure canner with this fun and informative session. You'll learn how to create your own canned goods and recipes in a safe and easy way so you too can preserve your garden harvest. Angie has over 25 years of experience preserving and canning food for her pantry. She grew up watching her grandparents can food and discovered her own passion for canning when she was 20 years old and started her own organic garden. Angie is passionate about food safety and educating herself with the latest recommendations and techniques put out by the National Center for Home Food Preservation (NCHFP). Angie has actively been teaching others how to preserve food for their home pantry for well over 10 years and loves to share her knowledge and passion for canning. I will walk through each step of the pressure canning process and I will demonstrate the whole process of pressure canning. We will discuss the different types of pressure canners and address concerns about food safety and the fear people have around using a pressure canner. You will learn what foods must be pressure canned and how to safely can ready to eat meals for your pantry. Cost covers all the materials and a mason jar of food to take home. Bring a notebook and pen, you will leave with lots of notes and knowledge and a friend to help you along with your food preservation journey. Class size will be a maximum of 15 participants. Age limit: 15 + What to wear and expect: The workshop will be held inside in our barn. We recommend wearing appropriate attire for a barn and dress in layers as we will not be in a heated or air-conditioned environment. We welcome you to pet our cows and goats, closed toed shoes are required to be around the animals. We have free ranging chickens, loud geese, drooly cows that like to lick, animal noises and barn birds. If any of this doesn't sound enjoyable this class might not be for you and that's okay. We aren't for everyone! Cancelations: Please read our full cancelation policy. Cancelations will not be refunded. Weather- Classes/workshops that fall on days with inclement weather will be rescheduled to a later date.

Cancellation Policy

Cancelations will not be refunded. Cancelations made within 24 hours of scheduled class are transferable to a future class of your choice. Cancelations without 24-hour notice or No-Shows will result in a forfeiture of your payment and will be considered a donation to our farm. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class/workshop at any time. If a class/workshop is canceled by us, you will be fully refunded. If the class/workshop is rescheduled, you will be contacted with the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date, we will happily transfer your class/workshop to any of our classes of lesser or equal value or charge you the difference for a higher priced class/workshop. Weather- Classes/workshops that fall on days with inclement weather will be rescheduled to a later date.
