Homestead Yogurt Making Workshop: March 8th 10am -12pm Learn how to make yogurt at home using farm fresh raw milk. We will go over all the steps needed to make a thick, healthy and delicious yogurt full of probiotics and good bacteria for your gut. We will discuss raw milk safety handling and how to buy raw milk from farms. What to look for in a high-quality milk and what to ask farmers before becoming a raw milk customer. Angie will discuss her secrets to making small batch yogurt in mason jars with the full fat cream line her customers enjoyed for many years. We will go over ways to culture milk so you can have economical options and maintain your own starter culture. Don't know what a starter culture is? No worries! This is a basic workshop for all skill levels and you will leave having all the knowledge you need to make yogurt at home. You will go home with a jar of yogurt that you can use as a culture and start making your own yogurt at home the next day! Angie has been making her own yogurt at home and raising homestead dairy animals on her small farm for almost 15 years. She has experience milking both goats and cows and from tiny nigerian dwarfs and stubborn nubians to dual purpose heritage breed cows to high production Jerseys. Angie loves teaching others homesteading skills so they can be more self sufficient. Angie is passionate about the benefits of raw milk and also around the safety of handling raw milk and the ethical treatment of dairy animals.
