Happy New Year my farm friends,

I'd like to welcome you to the first ever Sweet River Farm, LLC newsletter. I have been talking about starting a newsletter for the farm for what seems like eons. With the ending of the farmers market (and all the hundreds of weekly emails that ended along with it) I finally found some time to start working on the farm newsletter and website.

As most of you follow us on social media you know that our farm has been through some very substantial transitions over the last year. The hardest being the death of our dairy cow Promise and our other dairy cow Annie retiring to the role of very large, very expensive pet status this year. We have sold raw milk and raw milk products from our farm for the last five years as a way to keep our farm up and running. We have been left trying to figure out the answer to our biggest question "who are we now without raw milk?" No doubt I will be spending time writing about this on our blog as we figure it out.

For now, what I do know is my heart is with creating community and sharing the skills I've learned through the last 27 years of Jon's and I 'homesteading' journey together. I would like to put more focus this year on our workshops and God willing, they will keep this farm running. I have added several workshops to the website for the spring season, check out the list below and see if there are any that interest you. We also have gift cards available on the website, this is a great way to gift one of our workshops to a homesteader in your life.

 More workshops will be added along the way, if you have any skills you are looking to learn feel free to give me some ideas. Please note, the March workshops will be held at the Deerfield Bible Church kitchen, so we won't freeze in the barn. They have graciously allowed me to use their space for our workshops and I am so appreciative, especially for those raw March days.
